The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, former Minister of State and Presidential Candidate, as well as owner of Division One side Elmina Sharks, for bringing the game into disrepute.

A notice issued by the GFA on Monday, February 17 stated that Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom allegedly interfered with the Division One Zone Two match between his club, Elmina Sharks, and Swedru All Blacks on Sunday.

The former Minister of State, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, allegedly entered the inner perimeter and the field of play without authorization to protest a penalty decision made by referee Esso Doh Morrison.

Following the decision, the referee was physically attacked after the match, which ended 1-0 against Elmina Sharks.

Dr. Nduom is also accused of inciting fans, players, and club officials to attack the referee and his assistants.

The notice further stated that Dr. Nduom allegedly used social media commentary to further incite fans and club officials against the match officials.

These actions are considered a breach of Articles 34(1)(a), 34(2)(b), and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, 2019, as well as Section 12(4) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

He has until Wednesday, February 19, to respond to the charges.
