Nathaniel Bassey Shares How A Juju Man Attempted To Cast A Spell On Him
Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has recounted a disturbing encounter in which a self-acclaimed traditional spiritualist, commonly referred to as a “juju man,” allegedly attempted to cast a spell on him.
According to Bassey, the incident occurred on an express road and marked the second time the same individual had approached him.
The Imela singer shared the experience during the seventh day of his ongoing Hallelujah Challenge, explaining that the man knocked on his car and began speaking words he believed were meant to place him under an enchantment and compel him to act.
Rather than reacting in fear, Bassey said he responded calmly by declaring Bible verses affirming divine protection.
“I just stood there and laughed,” he recounted, adding that he quoted scriptures such as, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”
He further stated that the man lingered at the scene, seemingly waiting for the supposed spell to take effect. However, Bassey said he declared another scripture from Book of Numbers 23:23, which says, “There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel,” expressing confidence that no harm would come to him.

The pastor said he eventually stepped out of his vehicle and firmly ordered the man to leave. Reflecting on the incident, he admitted he later wished he had detained the individual until police arrived.
Bassey emphasized that he was not sharing the story to glorify evil but to underscore what he described as the reality of spiritual battles and the power of faith in overcoming them.
