Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor has said that her children made significant sacrifices for her career. She made this known in an appreciation note on Instagram.

Recall that the actress had won the Industry Merit Award, at Saturday’s Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

According to Mama G, as she is popularly known, she relied on her talent, humility, word of mouth and trust because there was absence of social media when she began her acting career.

She wrote, “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD “When we started in the industry, there was no social media and so many other luxuries we enjoy now. Progress was completely dependent on your talent, humility, word of mouth and trust.

“I appreciate my family who have always surrounded me with love and acceptance. My children sacrificed a lot and stayed long periods without a mother.

She added that at some point, her daughter became her PA and Associate Manager.

Patience Ozorkwor rose to fame from her role in the 1999 movie titled Authority and her first TV drama won a soap opera titled Someone Cares on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Since her rise to fame, she proceeded to act in over 100 movies.

Patience Ozorkwor recently starred in the Mo Abudu Netflix movie Chief Daddy (2018) and Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke (2022) as Madam Pat.

The popular actress is now an ordained evangelist.
