Monarch’s Praise, releases new Heavenly song “Baba God” to bless Gospel lovers
The new song Baba God” was written by Sean Ebenezer Marte Markwei. It was produced, mixed, and mastered by Richmond Aaron Oquaye (Richkeysbeat) and Kwabena Okyere Darko. The music was arranged by David Miyilor Okai and was Executively Produced by Rev. Dr. ESM Markwei and Rev. Dr. Mrs. Davina Markwei. The Genre is Gospel Amapiano.
Inspired by Psalm 23:4, “Baba God“ reminds us that God is always there for us even when we can’t see or feel it. He is working it out! Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. It’s talking about God’s faithfulness and His love towards us. We all have moments of doubt in our lives. Moments that don’t make sense.
Moments that make us wonder if God is there, if He hears us, if He even cares. 2 Corinthians 1:20 affirms all these doubts. His promises are yes and amen. He speaks truth into existence. He does not make empty promises. His words are sure, unchangeable, and stand no matter what life throws our way.
Monarch’s Praise is the resident choir of Living Streams International, a non-denominational charismatic church headquartered in Accra. Monarch’s Praise’s journey began over 30 years ago. Under the inspirational leadership of Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Markwei, Rev. Paajoe Markwei, and Minister David Okai, Monarch’s Praise has carved a niche within the gospel music industry in Ghana and beyond.
Monarch’s Praise released its first song ten years ago, Nyame Asem, and since then, it has been a transformational experience. Monarch’s Praise comprises members with a shared passion for music and a desire to create music that presents a fresh opportunity for fellowship with God, encouragement, and deep reflection for those whose hearts pant after the brooks of a new experience with God.
Over the years, they have performed with internationally acclaimed gospel artists such as Ron Kenoly, Lionel Peterson, Higher Ground, Micah Stampley, Midnight Crew, Deitrick Haddon, Mali Music, Tye Tribbett, Marvin Sapp, Mahalia Buchanan, and local artists.
In 2011, the group had the opportunity of inviting Midnight Crew of “Igwe” fame to Ghana as the main guest artiste for a big musical concert they organized at the Accra International Conference Centre to tie in with Ghana’s 54th Independence Day Anniversary. Other groups that performed during the concert were No Tribe and DSP Kofi Sarpong.

Following the success of the concert, hosted by the church’s resident choir, Monarchs Praise, they decided to maintain the brand name “Sing Out” and organized another concert, themed Peace Concert, in 2012. This concert was in commemoration of the birthday of the first president of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and also to promote peaceful 2012 elections. Their main artiste was Deitrick Haddon of “He’s Able,” fame from the United States of America. Then in 2013, following the success of previous concerts and information collected through questionnaires during each concert, they brought in Mali Music and Micah Stampley in 2013, Tye Tribbett and his band and backing singers in 2014, and then in 2016, Marvin Sapp from the United States of America.
Ghanaian local gospel artists were not left out, as featured at each concert were artists like Joe Mettle, Koda, Cwesi Oteng, Eugene Zuta, Selina Boateng, and Daughters of Glorious Jesus.
Finally, to add a salmagundi of flavors to the most recent concerts, the group invited acts such as Ghanaian comedian Funny Face and from Nigeria Christian comedy sensation Akpororo (alias; Akpos) to MC.
Proceeds from all concerts went towards Living Streams International’s annual medical outreach for the people of La, in Accra.
The video was captured at Living Streams International Church during a live worship and recording night for Monarch’s Praise.
