The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, addressed the Minority’s concerns by stating that Parliament lacks the constitutional authority to intervene in matters under the jurisdiction of the judiciary or security institutions. He advised the Minority to seek legal redress in court if they believe the bail conditions are excessive.

Chairman Wontumi remains in EOCO custody, having failed to meet the bail conditions. He is under investigation for alleged fraud, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering.

The Minority’s return to Parliament indicates a strategic shift, balancing their protest against what they perceive as politically motivated legal actions with their legislative responsibilities.
