Mercy Johnson’s husband top-charts elections
Odianosen Okojie, the husband of popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, has been elected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in Edo State’s Esan North East/South East federal seat for the 2023 elections.
On Saturday, Mr Okojie won the primary election in Ubiaja, Esan South East LGA, Edo State.
The 48-year-old politician chose the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form to compete for the Federal House of Representatives, Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency, in April 2022.
Mr Okojie and numerous PDP followers moved to the APC from the People’s Democratic Party in December 2017. (PDP).
He is descended from Ogbidi Okojie, Onojie (king) of Uromi, a monarch of the Esan people known for his defiance to British control.
The hotelier-turned-politician is a descendant of both the Okojie royal line and Uromi Esan, a North-East local government.

Gratitude
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Mr Okojie thanked God for the victory as well as his wife’s love and support.
His wife rejoiced at her husband’s win as well.
