Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has bravely shared details of her ongoing legal battle with her former label boss and music producer, Ezekiel ThankGod, aka Eezee Concept. In an emotional Instagram video, she revealed the toxic environment she endured under Eezee’s management.

In 2019, Eezee proposed extending Mercy Chinwo’s five-year contract to twelve years, a suggestion she rejected to pursue her own career goals. This refusal, Chinwo claims, strained their relationship, with Eezee allegedly subjecting her to verbal and emotional abuse. She recalled Eezee making threatening statements, saying, “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are, I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again.”

Expressing gratitude for her fans’ support, Chinwo said, “First, I want to thank everyone for your immense love and support. I never thought a day would come when I’d sit here to share my story. For the sake of the body of Christ, I felt it was important to clarify many of the misleading stories out there about the Mercy Chinwo brand.”

She continued, addressing the public’s misunderstanding of her lawsuit: “A man claimed I sued him, went online, and made videos to tarnish my image. He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you.’ I became scared for my life and had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because he made the environment toxic for me.”

Chinwo further accused Eezee of withholding her royalties for two years, labeling him a “bully” and “oppressor.” She also revealed that Eezee spread false rumors about her after she collaborated with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, whom he reportedly disliked. According to Chinwo, Eezee even reached out to bloggers to falsely claim that her son was not hers.

In her powerful closing statement, Chinwo declared, “You want me to hate people you hate, so when I say no, you harass me. You are a harasser, you have bloggers, but I have God. You cannot destroy me. The worst you can do is what you’re doing now. You have bloggers, but I have God, and God will not let your plans succeed.”
