A fiery online exchange has sparked between renowned entertainment critic and event MC, David Portfolio, and media personality Vida Adutwumwaa, who also doubles as the PR manager for Burniton Music Group and its leading act, Stonebwoy.
At the heart of the controversy is the highly coveted Artist of the Year (AOTY) award, with David Portfolio backing rising star King Paluta, while Vida Adutwumwaa passionately throws her support behind her boss, Stonebwoy.
Adding a twist to the drama is the fact that Portfolio was one of Stonebwoy’s most vocal advocates for the same award just last year. This time, however, he’s made a surprising shift, throwing his full weight behind King Paluta to take home the prestigious title in May.
The online clash was ignited when David Portfolio published a letter addressed directly to Vida Adutwumwaa. In his post, he accused her of unfairly attacking King Paluta rather than offering an objective analysis of the facts.
He emphasized that he has always respected every artist and their brand during award campaigns, urging Vida to foster constructive dialogue rather than discrediting his preferred nominee.
Vida Adutwumwaa, in her response, did not hold back.
She firmly dismissed Portfolio’s claims, stating that she had never insulted anyone, contrary to the narrative he was trying to push. Adutwumwaa also refuted Portfolio’s assertion that top officials within Bhim Nation were upset about his endorsement of another artist, labeling it as completely untrue.
Taking a jab at Portfolio’s perceived influence, she added that during internal discussions, he doesn’t even make it to the Any Other Business (AOB) segment—implying his opinions carry little to no weight in serious conversations within the camp.
