The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has once again declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a wanted person, citing his failure to appear in person for ongoing investigations.

At a press conference on Monday evening, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng revealed that the OSP has initiated the process to issue an Interpol red notice for Ofori-Atta’s arrest. He expressed frustration over what he described as the former minister’s repeated delays and lack of cooperation.

“Our patience has run out,” Agyebeng stated firmly. “We have consistently requested his personal attendance and have made it clear that we are unwilling to waive that requirement.”

He emphasized that the OSP would not accept a virtual statement or any form of remote cooperation, noting that if that were acceptable, they would have taken such a statement months ago.

“We want him here physically, and we insist on it,” he added. “A suspect in a criminal probe does not dictate how the investigation is conducted. We will not tolerate this behavior—especially not in this case.”

Earlier on Monday, Frank Davies, one of Ofori-Atta’s lawyers, disclosed that his client had requested a virtual session with the OSP due to medical reasons that have prevented him from returning to Ghana.
