JZyNo apologises to Dancegod Lloyd over ‘Butter My Bread’ music video confusion
Ghana-based Liberian artiste JZyNo has extended an olive branch to Ghanaian dancer Dancegod Lloyd over a misunderstanding that ensued between them regarding the video shoot of the song ‘Butta My Bread’.
JZyNo who was speaking to Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Changes, said after Dancegod did a challenge for his ‘Butta My Bread’, he decided to have him in the music video for the song but things didn’t go as planned. He explained that Dancegod couldn’t make it to the shoot because he was going on a tour in Spain.
“The issue started when we did the ‘Butta My Bread’ song. We were to do the music video in Nigeria. Clarence Peters sent us the date for the shoot. So I told Dancegod about it. We were all in numbers; my manager, Dancegod at East Legon. He said he was going to Spain, he was going on tour,” JZyNo told Roselyn.
JZyNo further narrated that even when he offered to buy flight tickets for Dancegod to move from Spain to shoot the video in Nigeria, he declined.
“Then I said if I don’t put my brother in the video I wouldn’t feel alright and secondly people may feel different tomorrow. So bro, I know how much I have in my account. I want to buy you a ticket from Spain to Nigeria in and out. Let’s just shoot the video, just for you to be in the video. Dancegod said ‘no, I am going on tour’, I don’t know when I will be back,” he said.
This made him to contact two Nigerian dancers who agreed to do the work for him because he still needed dancers in the video; he went for Chris and Purpose Baby and paid them. Their deal also failed because when it was time for the shoot, the dancers’ costumes were not ready.
“They day of the video shoot, they couldn’t get involved with the video because of the costume and where they wanted to place them. They let me down,” he indicated. He, therefore, had an agreement with them to let them shoot a video for any song he would do next. According to JZyNo, he called Dancegod later so he would not feel he sidelined him after they earlier worked on the ‘Butta My Bread’ challenge.

“So I told him based on what happened that time this, this is the situation we have for this. These people are going to do the challenge for my new song because I couldn’t allow that money to be wasted,” he noted. This, he claimed was the beginning of his sour relationship with Dancegod Lloyd.
Recently, when they met at Original TV, he said Dancegod Lloyd refused to shake hands with him, a situation that got him worried. On Changes, the singer, therefore, rendered an apology to Dancegod Lloyd.
“In the public, I am saying this. However way I’ve hurt you, I’m sorry. No excuses, I’m sorry. Wherever you are, forgive me. I’m going to call you from here. I need to link up, meet you. Let’s go the chop bar. Love, my brother,” he said.
JZyNo is known for songs such as ‘Onana’, ‘Rula’, ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’, ‘Butta My Bread’, and the latest ‘Mood’ featuring Khaid.
