Junior Pope’s Father Dies One Year After The Actor’s Untimely Passing
Ozor Luke Odonwodo, father of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has passed away—bringing fresh sorrow to the Odonwodo family just a year after the tragic death of the beloved actor.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Awele, who shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
In her heartfelt post, Jennifer remembered her late father-in-law as “a man who genuinely loved his family and made countless sacrifices for those he held dear.” She described him as an octogenarian who had lived a full and rewarding life, having experienced the joy of seeing his efforts come to fruition.
“It was a short time with you, Daddy, but it was a sweet one. You loved me, and I loved you,” she wrote.
Still mourning the loss of her husband, Jennifer expressed deep appreciation for the bond she shared with Ozor Luke, ending her tribute with verses from the Bible and a reaffirmation of her faith in the resurrection.

The Odonwodo family continues to grieve the untimely passing of Junior Pope, who tragically drowned on April 10, 2024, following a boat accident on the Anam River after a film shoot. He was 43.
Junior Pope, celebrated for his charm and versatility on screen, is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons.
