On March 3, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed an additional four-count charge against Jude Okoye, accusing him of diverting music royalties intended for his brothers.
The trial commenced on Monday, April 14, at the Federal High Court in Lagos. Jude has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty to each charge.
According to the prosecution, Jude allegedly misappropriated various funds—$767,544.15, £34,537.59, $133,566.49, and $118,652.20—using them for personal gain and “deliberately depriving Peter of his rightful earnings.”
In response to these new charges, the court granted Jude an additional bail of ₦50 million. On the evening of Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Paul Okoye took to Instagram to announce his brother’s release from prison.
He shared videos of Jude leaving custody and reuniting with family after two months behind bars.
“Jude is finally out after 2 months +. All their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home brother @judeengees. And happy birthday,” Paul wrote.

“Peter is the one trying to send our brother Jude to prison and I’m here to bring him out. If they accuse Jude of doing something, it means Peter is guilty and I am guilty too”
