I’ve Never Taken A Bribe As An Officer Or Gospel Musician – ACP Kofi Sarpong Claims
In Ghana, some members of the public often see police officers as people who take bribes, a perception that has over the years weakened trust in law enforcement. Although many officers carry out their duties honestly, the issue of bribery continues to be a major concern for the public.
In response to this perception, well-known Ghanaian police officer and gospel musician ACP Kofi Sarpong has stated that he has never taken a bribe throughout his career, either as a police officer or as a gospel artiste.

He made this disclosure during an interview on Hitz FM, hosted by Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, after a listener asked whether he had ever accepted a bribe while serving as an Assistant Commissioner of Police or during his music career.
Laughing as he answered, ACP Kofi Sarpong firmly replied, “Not at all… never.”

When Doreen Avio followed up by asking if he had ever been offered or pressured to take a bribe, he responded briefly, “Naa.”
