I’ve Never Paid For A Feature – Piesie Esther Reveals

Gospel musician Piesie Esther says she has never experienced the challenges some artistes face when collaborating with colleagues.

In an interview on Hitz FM on November 13, 2025, she expressed surprise at hearing stories of musicians struggling to work together due to charges or disagreements.

According to her, the strong relationships she has built over the years have made collaborations easy, and her colleagues never charge her for features.

“I’ve never had issues working with other artistes. It surprises me when I hear such complaints. Throughout my career, I haven’t approached any artiste who has charged me. From those I started with until now, none of them have ever taken money from me. Because of the relationships we share, when I attend my colleagues’ events, I sometimes show up with my full band of about ten people and pay all the expenses myself,” she explained.

She noted that she also does not take money from colleagues who invite her to perform—and even when they insist on giving her something, she refuses.

“And because of that, when they come for my events, they don’t expect payment either. Sometimes after they perform, we only give them a little something for fuel. I’m not saying others shouldn’t charge, but personally, I don’t take money from artistes who invite me to their shows. Even if you offer, I won’t take it,” she added.
