Interpol Process Underway To Arrest And Extradite Ken Ofori-Atta – Special Prosecutor Confirms
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has disclosed that his office has formally initiated the process for the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, potentially leading to his international arrest and extradition.

“About 30 minutes before this brief, I triggered processes for the issuance of an INTERPOL red notice for the location and provisional arrest of Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta in whichever jurisdiction, pending extradition or his surrender,” Agyebeng stated during a press briefing.
The move comes amid ongoing investigations in which the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has accused Ofori-Atta of causing financial loss to the state in multiple high-profile transactions. These include alleged irregularities surrounding the construction of the National Cathedral, Ghana Revenue Authority’s dealings with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the ECG-Beijing Jao loss-reduction contract, and the controversial ambulance procurement arrangement between the Ministry of Health and Service Ghana Auto Limited.

The OSP has insisted that Ofori-Atta’s continued failure to appear in person for questioning, despite multiple requests, has left the office no choice but to escalate the matter through international law enforcement channels.
