I’ll Win Against Black Sherif In The Next TGMA Artist Of The Year Category – Piesie Esther
Award-winning gospel singer Piesie Esther says she is confident of winning the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year if she’s nominated alongside Black Sherif again.
The gospel powerhouse, who was one of the top contenders for the title two years ago, narrowly lost to the “Kweku The Traveler” hitmaker. However, she says that experience strengthened her faith and determination.

Speaking in an interview with Nii Noi on Hitz FM, Piesie Esther reflected on the 2023 awards, saying she saw her nomination itself as a major victory.

“From where I started to being among the biggest names in Ghanaian music was something I thanked God for,” she said.
With a renewed sense of purpose and several successful projects under her belt, Piesie Esther believes she now has what it takes to win the top award.
According to her, both she and Black Sherif have had an incredible year—releasing hit songs, performing at major events, and meeting all the benchmarks for Artist of the Year—but she feels her spiritual impact gives her the edge.
“This year has been amazing for me. My new song ‘Nyame Ye’ has touched so many hearts—even little children sing it. I’ve worked hard and stayed consistent, so if I’m nominated again, I believe I’ll win hands down,” she confidently stated.
The “Waye Me Yie” hitmaker added that she has worked tirelessly to grow her ministry and music brand since her last TGMA nomination, trusting God’s guidance every step of the way.
