I Wish I Had Won 2023 TGMA Artist Of The Year, But I Was Never Disappointed – Piesie Esther
Award-winning gospel musician Piesie Esther has opened up about her feelings following the outcome of the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), where she narrowly missed out on the Artist of the Year title to Black Sherif.

Speaking in an interview with Nii Noi on Hitz FM, the “Waye Me Yie” hitmaker admitted that while she had hoped to win the ultimate award, she never felt disappointed by the results.
“I really wished I had won Artist of the Year in 2023, but I was never disappointed. I saw the nomination itself as a huge achievement,” she shared.
According to her, standing among the top musicians in Ghana was already a blessing and a testament to how far God had brought her in her musical journey.
“From where I started to being recognized alongside some of the biggest names in the industry was something I thanked God for. That alone was victory enough,” she added.
Piesie Esther, who had an impressive run that year with her hit songs and powerful performances, noted that the experience only motivated her to work harder and continue impacting lives through gospel music.
She also expressed gratitude to her fans and the gospel fraternity for their unwavering support, promising to keep delivering songs that uplift and inspire believers.
