I Will Return To My Nursing Job At Age 40 – Sista Afia
Ghanaian Afro-pop artist Sista Afia has revealed that she plans to return to her nursing career at the age of 40, after spending some years as a musician.
In a recent interview on Onua TV, Sista Afia explained that her nursing career is currently on hold as she focuses entirely on her music. Before relocating to Ghana to focus on music, Sista Afia worked as a licensed nurse in the UK.
She shared, “Right now, I’m a full-time musician, and nursing is on hold. When I turn 40, I’ll return to nursing.” She jokingly added, “It’s been a while since I left school; I’ve even forgotten how to spell Chloroquine.”

The singer, known for hits like “Jeje” and “Slay Queen,” emphasized that while her primary focus is music at the moment, she remains open to returning to her nursing career in the future.
Sista Afia studied nursing at the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Ghana before moving to the UK to further her education.
She came back to Ghana in 2015 to pursue her musical dreams and has since become one of the most prominent voices in the country’s Afro-pop scene.
