Speaking on The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, Diana recalled that her love for music began very early in life.

“I believe I started singing from my mother’s womb. Even before I turned seven, I was already singing. In church, whenever someone sang, I would repeat it exactly as they did,” she recounted.

She shared how her family also noticed her gift at a young age. “One of my aunties would often say, ‘You sing like an adult, sing like a child,’” Diana added with a smile.

By age 13, Diana was already singing at church events, and it was during this time that Francis Agyei discovered her talent and invited her to join his team. Together, they recorded Metwere Obotan Bi while she was still in Junior Secondary School.

Between JSS and SSS, Diana spent much of her time with Francis, joining him at studio sessions and live performances. By the time she enrolled at Ghana National College, they had already released an album. “I was 13 when I joined him, and by 14 we had released Metwere Obotan Bi. I worked with him for 10 years,” she explained.

Her transition to becoming an independent artiste began when her long-time manager advised her to focus on her nursing studies. Singing with Francis often clashed with her education, and her manager promised to support her music career once she completed school.

True to his word, after Diana graduated from nursing school, her manager took her to the studio to record her first demo, W’ani Ku Me Ho. A few years later, he introduced her to a songwriter, leading to the release of Osoro Bekasa in 2005, shortly after her marriage.

From there, Diana rose to become one of Ghana’s most celebrated gospel artistes, releasing hit songs such as Adom, Mo Ne Yo, and My Meditations. Her music has won her multiple awards, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Gospel Artiste of the Year.
