I Wanted To Be A Rapper – Yvonne Nelson Claims
Ghanaian actress and film producer Yvonne Nelson recently revealed that she once aspired to become a rapper. During her high school years, she was part of a rap group inspired by the Fugees, where she took on the role akin to Lauryn Hill.
She expressed her enthusiasm for performing at school entertainment events, which provided her with opportunities to showcase her rap skills.
However, her career trajectory shifted unexpectedly when she met Ghanaian filmmaker Abdul Salam at Afrikiko.
Without any prior auditions, he invited her to a film set, leading to her debut role in the movie “Princess Tyra.” This opportunity marked the beginning of her acting career, steering her away from her initial dream of rapping.
