I Never Paid Any Musician Who Performed At My Birthday Party — Richard Nii Armah Quaye
Ghanaian billionaire Richard Nii Armah Quaye has responded to circulating rumors suggesting he paid huge sums to musicians who performed at his lavish birthday celebration held at Black Star Square.
In a conversation highlighted by Ghanaian musician and broadcaster Blakk Rasta on his Black Pot show, Richard set the record straight.
He dismissed the claims as entirely false and urged Ghanaians to disregard the misinformation.
Richard clarified that the artists who performed at his birthday event are close friends, and their attendance was purely out of goodwill—not business. According to him, no financial transactions or performance fees were involved.
He shared that he simply extended invitations to his friends, who gladly showed up to celebrate with him.
Citing his long-standing relationships with Davido and Diamond Platnumz—friendships that span over five years—Richard emphasized that their support was based on loyalty, not compensation.
He did note, however, that in Diamond’s case, the only request made was the provision of a private jet for his travel.
