I Have No Issues With Empress Gifty – Piesie Esther
Gospel singer Piesie Esther has debunked rumors suggesting tension between her and fellow gospel star Empress Gifty, known for her hit song Watch Me.
The speculation started after Piesie’s appearance on Power FM on Saturday, September 13, 2025. During the interview, host Agyeman Prempeh asked her to name the winner of the 2025 Ghana Music Awards USA Artiste of the Year. Piesie hesitated before finally mentioning Empress Gifty, which sparked online chatter.
When asked if she had congratulated Empress on the win, Piesie explained that when she won Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards Europe, no one congratulated her. Her comments fueled talk of possible tension between the two artists.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, Piesie clarified her stance.
“The reason I hesitated to mention Empress Gifty’s name was because her win had stirred a lot of debate—some felt she deserved it, others didn’t. I didn’t want to reignite the controversy. That’s why I was cautious,” she said.
Piesie made it clear that she has no issues with Empress Gifty, adding: “I don’t have any problem with her. I don’t know anyone who can boldly say I have an issue with them. Gifty and I are cool we talk.”

She also used the opportunity to promote her latest single, Nyame Ye, which has been receiving a warm reception from gospel music lovers.
