I Felt Disappointed When ‘Mo’ Wasn’t Nominated For Songwriter Of The Year At The TGMAs – Piesie Esther
Gospel musician Piesie Esther has opened up about her disappointment over her hit song “Mo” not receiving a nomination for Songwriter of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Speaking in an interview earlier today with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the award-winning singer revealed that while she was grateful for her other nominations, she genuinely felt “Mo” deserved recognition in the songwriting category.

“I was a bit disappointed when ‘Mo’ didn’t get nominated for Songwriter of the Year because the message in that song was deep and spirit-filled,” she said. “The lyrics came from a place of gratitude to God, and I believe it touched many lives.”
Piesie Esther, known for powerful gospel anthems such as “Waye Me Yie” and “Nyame Ye,” added that she respects the TGMA board’s decisions but hopes future nominations will better reflect the lyrical and spiritual depth in gospel music.
