I Could Expose Secrets That Might Get Despite And Me In Trouble With FBI – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has issued a strong warning to prominent businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, following criticisms directed at rapper Medikal by media personalities affiliated with Despite Media Group.

In a TikTok Live session, Shatta Wale addressed the recent backlash Medikal faced from pundits including MC Yaa Yeboah after a controversial incident involving a female University of Ghana student during one of his performances. According to Shatta Wale, Medikal had privately confided in him, expressing concern over what he considered to be unfair and excessive criticism.

The SM leader used the moment to shed light on what he views as a larger issue within the media landscape, citing the impact of negative commentary on highlife musician Bisa Kdei’s career.

“The media once destroyed Bisa Kdei’s career by labelling his music as fit only for funerals. He had to find new ways to monetise his art, and now he’s wealthier than many of the employees at Despite Media,” Shatta Wale remarked.

He went on to issue a direct warning to Dr. Despite, threatening to reveal sensitive information if negative commentary about him continues on any platform owned by the media mogul.

“If anyone dares mention my name again on Peace FM or UTV, I’ll disclose things about Despite that could get both of us in trouble with the FBI. Ghana won’t be able to handle it if I begin to speak,” he cautioned.

While reiterating his respect for Dr. Despite, Shatta Wale expressed frustration with the conduct of the media figures under his brand, warning that if no action is taken, he may be forced to respond more drastically.

“I respect him, but his people keep provoking me. If he doesn’t rein them in, I’ll stop holding back and start exposing things. I’ve had enough.”
