Greater Accra Declares Last Friday Of Every Month As Sanitation Day
In a Obenewaa Akweley Oclooess and environmental responsibility, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, has announced that the last Friday of every month will be observed as Sanitation Day.
This initiative aims to encourage residents to take pride in their environment and work together to maintain a clean and healthy community. The move is also expected to boost the region’s efforts to improve sanitation and waste management.
According to the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, observing everyday as Sanitation Day is crucial to maintaining a clean environment. The government has been working tirelessly to improve sanitation infrastructure in the region, including the provision of new toilet facilities to several schools under the Greater Accra Sustainable Sanitation and Livelihood Improvement Project (GASSLIP).
The observation of Sanitation Day in Greater Accra is a step in the right direction towards promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Residents are encouraged to participate fully and take ownership of their environment.
