Government To Build 600 CHPS Compounds By End Of 2025
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, has announced that the John Mahama administration will construct 600 Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds across the country by the end of 2025.

The initiative is part of efforts to expand access to primary healthcare, especially in underserved and rural communities.
Speaking at a media briefing, Felix Kwakye Ofosu revealed that two new CHPS compounds will be constructed in each district within the year. “Each district is required to construct two new CHPS compounds this year. Altogether, that amounts to about 600 CHPS compounds in 2025 alone,” he stated.

He added that the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure could lead to even greater results in the years ahead. “If we sustain this momentum, we could exceed 2,000 CHPS compounds over the next four years,” he projected.
