GNUTS Hails GH¢345M Admission Fee Refund for Freshers
The Ghana National Union of Technical Students (GNUTS) has praised the government for its decision to refund admission fees for first-year university students, amounting to a total allocation of GH¢345 million.
This initiative has been widely welcomed as a step toward improving access to higher education and reducing the financial strain on students and their families, particularly during challenging economic times. GNUTS highlighted that this decision reflects their long-standing call for policies that enhance educational affordability and inclusivity.
They emphasized that such measures will encourage more students to pursue tertiary education without fear of financial barriers, ultimately contributing to national development through a better-educated workforce. The union has urged the government to ensure a transparent and efficient implementation process so that all eligible students can benefit from the refund.
