Ghana And Algeria Sign Visa Waiver Deal To Strengthen Strategic Relations
Ghana and Algeria have strengthened their diplomatic and economic partnership with the signing of a visa waiver agreement, aimed at easing travel and boosting cooperation between the two nations.
The agreement was formalized during Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s official visit to Algiers, following high-level discussions with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.
This development is expected to enhance people-to-people connections, promote tourism, and stimulate trade and investment between West and North Africa.

Foreign Minister Ablakwa highlighted the significance of the agreement, describing it as a continuation of the historical friendship between Ghana and Algeria, forged during the post-independence era.
The visa waiver forms part of a broader push for African integration, aligning with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to improve mobility and economic collaboration across the continent.
