Veteran hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone has shared his candid thoughts on navigating social media and dealing with online trolls during an appearance on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show.

Reflecting on his early experiences with social platforms, Reggie recalled, “I remember the first time I showed up on Twitter. Manifest DM’d me, and I was like, ‘What’s a DM?’”

Acknowledging the often chaotic nature of the digital space, he said, “I quickly realized it’s a mad world out here. But here’s the thing—I’m a wordsmith, a rapper. I literally talk for a living, so trolling me isn’t easy.”

Issuing a warning to those who try to come for him online, he said bluntly, “You better look properly—get your facts straight before coming at me. I’m not just some random guy. I’m a rapper. I’m a British New Yorker. Most trolls aren’t even that smart.”

Reggie also spoke about his dynamic with online personality Bongo Ideas, explaining, “Me and Bongo have this weird relationship. He’s a young guy doing his thing. But people need to understand—it’s the public that fuels this negativity. That’s how he got an audience. Ghanaians hate, and they gave him that platform.”

Despite the noise, Rockstone emphasized his thick skin: “Trolling me is nearly impossible. In the history of trolling, I might be the only one who actually trolls back.”
