Former National Signals Bureau Boss Kwabena Adu Boahene Arrested At Kotoka Airport By EOCO Deputy Director In Ongoing Investigation
Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), was arrested at Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival from London.
The operation was conducted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), with Acting Deputy Executive Director Raymond Archer personally overseeing the arrest.
Adu-Boahene is currently under investigation for alleged financial offenses, including money laundering, fraud, misappropriation of public funds, and causing financial loss to the state. This arrest aligns with President John Mahama’s “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL) initiative, aimed at combating corruption and reclaiming state assets lost to financial mismanagement.
Prior to his arrest, Adu-Boahene was implicated in the alleged kidnapping of Sylvia Baah, the Country Manager of Emirates Airlines in Ghana. Following these allegations, he was dismissed from his position at the NSB and had been out of the country since early February.
Upon his return, Adu-Boahene attempted to evade authorities by using the Commercially Important Person (CIP) terminal but was apprehended by vigilant officials. He is currently in EOCO custody awaiting further interrogation.
This high-profile arrest has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s security and intelligence community, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing corruption and financial misconduct within its agencies.
