Focus On Purpose, Not Money – Kofi Owusu Peprah To Gospel Ministers
Ghanaian gospel musician Kofi Owusu Peprah has called on gospel ministers to prioritize purpose over profit in their ministries.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, the “Matwen” hitmaker expressed concern over the growing trend of commercialism in gospel music and ministry. He emphasized that the Gospel is a divine calling, not a business venture, and those who preach or sing the Word should do so with sincerity and a heart for souls.

Kofi Owusu Peprah stated that ministers must remember they are stewards of a spiritual assignment, not entertainers chasing wealth or fame.
“The gospel is not for sale. When purpose is lost, money becomes the focus — and that’s dangerous. We are called to serve, not to profit,” he said.
He also advised gospel ministers to add value to themselves by seeking personal and spiritual growth. According to him, building capacity through knowledge, training, and spiritual discipline enhances both their message and their impact. “Ministers must continually grow in understanding, in character, and in spiritual depth. When you grow, your ministry grows too,” he added.

Kofi Owusu Peprah, who comes from a strong musical lineage as the son of Elder Mireku, continues to champion the values of authentic gospel ministry, urging a return to the core purpose of spreading the message of Christ.
