Focus On God, Not Money – Ohemaa Mercy Tells Gospel Musicians
Celebrated gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has urged her colleagues and upcoming gospel artistes to stop viewing the gospel industry as a money-making venture.

Speaking on Joy FM, the Aseda hitmaker explained that although she has built a successful career through her God-given voice, she believes every individual has a unique talent bestowed by God, which should be used purposefully.
“It becomes a big problem when people seek to please man instead of God. Many enter the industry for financial gain, which is completely wrong,” she stated.
Ohemaa Mercy emphasized that true success comes from prioritizing God over profit: “It would be better if people listened to God and remained focused on their calling rather than chasing money.”

Sharing the secret behind her success, she said, “When we allow God to be at the centre of everything, blessings follow naturally.”

She further encouraged gospel artistes to work diligently and remain obedient to God’s direction rather than depending on hearsay or trends.
“There are many who have drifted from their original purpose. They need to pay attention to their management and be mindful of their associations and friendships. It’s also important to have a spiritual father for guidance. Personally, I always seek to hear from God first,” she advised.
