Final Funeral Rites Of Late Ayawaso East MP Naser Toure Mahama Scheduled For Today
The final funeral rites and burial of the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Naser Toure Mahama, will be held today, Monday, January 5, at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office in Nima–Kanda, according to the MP for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah.
Naser Toure Mahama passed away on Sunday, January 4, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
Speaking on the burial arrangements, Mr Jajah said that through the intervention of President John Dramani Mahama, the necessary processes were expedited to allow the release of the late MP’s body.
“As we speak, the body has been brought home,” he confirmed.
In line with Islamic tradition, a Janazah prayer will be held this morning at 10:00 am at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office along the Kanda Highway. The prayer will be led by the National Chief Imam, marking the start of the burial rites.
Following the prayers, the late MP will be laid to rest at the Madina Cemetery, Mr Jajah added.
