The problems started at 10:20 a.m. ET and affect the websites and applications of social media companies.
Over 200,000 Americans are experiencing Facebook issues, according to DownDetector, a website that tracks internet outages. Almost 30,000 Americans reported similar issues with Instagram, and just over 8,000 with Messenger.
