Entertainment industry needs support from investors – Alordia
CEO of Alordia promotions – organizers of Ghana Music Awards UK, Nii Ofori Tackie, has urged Ghanaians to support and invest in the show business.
In an interview with the host of Adwumapa mbre on connect 97.1fm, the event promoter indicated that Ghanaian artistes are doing well. And with support from investors and the media, they will be able to fill up big venues just as Nigerians are doing.
”Nigerians are getting there because they are really pushing. For instance, you can get an Alhaji who is rich and willing to support their artiste, but it’s not like that in Ghana. We are doing everything right, but we lack support and investors.”
Alordia, who has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades pushing most Ghanaian arts overseas to perform at events, also advised musicians to try as much as possible to communicate in English or pidgin like the Nigerians are doing.
“Most Nigerian artistes sing in pidgin or English, making it easier for their songs to cut across. But in our case, most of our artistes sing in our local dialect, which makes it difficult for some people to understand. I’ll advise that our musicians communicate more in pidgin or English when writing songs. But I must say they are really doing well.”
Alordia Promotion is one of the biggest promoters Ghana has ever had as far as entertainment is concerned, hosting events such as Ghana Music Awards UK, Ghana Independence Concert, Afrobeat Concert and others.
