In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Kotey admitted to past delays in processing licences, attributing them to supplier challenges and data issues from 2022 and 2023.

He noted that the backlog has now been cleared and encouraged applicants with unresolved data problems to take advantage of the free recapture service.

“I am aware of the complaints about licence delays. After reviewing the situation with the directors, it became clear that we owed our supplier for essential printing materials. That matter has since been resolved, and the backlog has been addressed.

However, data challenges from 2022 and 2023 still persist, so I urge those affected to recapture their licences at no cost. From January 2026, licences will be printed and issued instantly, and by next year, we expect to eliminate backlogs altogether,” he assured.
