“That’s where everything turned for me. That’s where I met my Joseph. That’s where I met my manager. I met my husband in nursing school. I made my friends in nursing school,” she shared.

The Nursing School Connection

Although widely recognised for her powerful vocals and inspirational songs, Hamilton revealed that the pillars behind her success were formed in the lecture halls and hospital wards of her training college.

Hamilton admitted that as a student nurse, some aspects of the job were initially overwhelming, particularly tasks like wound dressing and other demanding ward duties.

“We didn’t like the wound dressing. We didn’t like all the things that made good nurses,” she said, laughing as she remembered questioning whether she had chosen the right profession at the time.
