Koo Ofori was arrested by the Accra Central Police Command after a complainant based in California reported that the actor had failed to fulfill an investment agreement despite receiving a significant sum of money.
According to police investigations, not only did Koo Ofori default on the repayment, but he also ignored a court summons scheduled for April 17, 2025, prompting the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest.
He was apprehended on May 9, 2025, and footage of his arrest quickly circulated on social media. He remained in police custody until his appearance in court on May 12, where bail was formally granted.
The court has stipulated that all three sureties must be credible and ensure that the actor appears for all future proceedings.
