According to a post on the OSP’s official X (formerly Twitter) page, Mr Ofori-Atta filed the application to restrain the OSP from publishing any “wanted” notice or circulating his image ahead of a scheduled appearance on 2 June 2025.

The former minister, who is under multiple investigations by the OSP and other state agencies for alleged misconduct during his tenure in office, is currently the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice. Extradition proceedings are said to be underway with the relevant authorities to facilitate his return to Ghana.
The OSP noted that this dismissed application is one of several civil suits Mr Ofori-Atta has launched in an attempt to halt the OSP’s investigations or challenge the issuance of arrest warrants related to the ongoing probes.
In addition to throwing out the application, the court imposed a cost of GH₵5,000 against Mr Ofori-Atta.
