Corruption And Abuse Of Power Must Have No Place In Our Military – Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the imperative to eradicate corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power within Ghana’s military.

Addressing the newly inaugurated Ghana Armed Forces Council, he stated, “Corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power must have no place in our military.”
President Mahama highlighted that military leadership should inspire confidence, fairness, and trust among both service members and the Ghanaian populace. He underscored that a robust and respected military is founded on service, integrity, and unwavering dedication to duty. He called upon the council members to approach their responsibilities with wisdom and integrity, reinforcing that corruption and abuse of power are intolerable within the armed forces.
This stance aligns with President Mahama’s broader commitment to combating corruption across various sectors. Recently, he directed an investigation into over 81,000 suspected ghost names on the National Service Authority’s payroll, reflecting his administration’s dedication to eliminating entrenched corruption.
President Mahama’s firm position on integrity within the military underscores his administration’s focus on fostering ethical leadership and accountability in Ghana’s security institutions.
