Children Of Helicopter Crash Victims Awarded Full Scholarships
The children of the eight victims who lost their lives in the August 6 helicopter crash have been awarded full educational scholarships.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief of Staff, where Julius Debrah accepted the scholarship package on behalf of the bereaved families.

The initiative is a partnership between B5 Plus Group and DPS International School, designed to provide lasting educational support to the affected families. Under the programme, two children from each family will receive full scholarships to study at DPS International School in Tema. The package covers tuition, uniforms, and, where required, boarding facilities, from the basic level through to A-Levels.

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah praised the initiative as a commendable act of private sector responsibility and a demonstration of commitment to nation-building.
Presidential Advisor on Legal Affairs and former Attorney-General, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, also lauded the effort. She emphasized the long-term impact of investing in the children’s education and applauded DPS International for its reputation for academic excellence. She noted that the school has produced distinguished alumni, including Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, son of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is currently pursuing Astronomy at Wesleyan University in the United States.
