Chairman Wontumi Calls On Ghanaians To Stand With Him, Alleging He Is Being Unfairly Targeted For Political Reasons

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi and serving as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made an emotional appeal to Ghanaians—particularly NPP members—to rally to his defense following a raid on his residence by National Security operatives and police officers.

The reasons behind the security presence at his home remain unclear, though unconfirmed reports suggest he may be accused of committing actions deemed unconstitutional.

In an emotional interview on Movement FM, Chairman Wontumi accused former President John Dramani Mahama of orchestrating a politically motivated campaign against him. He expressed deep distress over what he described as unjust treatment by the Mahama administration and urged well-meaning citizens and senior NPP figures to support him.

He further lamented that the actions taken against him were rooted in personal animosity from the Mahama government, stating that he had never served under President Akufo-Addo’s administration and questioned why he was being targeted.
