Media General journalist Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has achieved a remarkable academic milestone at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

He was named the Overall Best Graduating Graduate Student (Project Work – Campus Cohort) at UPSA’s 5th Session of the 17th Congregation Ceremony on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Captain Smart, who hosts the morning show Maakye on Onua TV, earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Peace, Security, and Intelligence Management, complementing his B.A. in Banking and Finance from Radford University and a B.A. in Communications from Christian Service University, Kumasi.

His exceptional project, titled “Presidential Protection and Economic Security in Africa: The Intelligence Architecture Against Foreign Threats and Hybrid Warfare,” impressed the university, securing him the top position among his campus cohort.
