Otto Addo’s men came out strong, controlling possession with fluid passing and creating early chances. Jordan Ayew and Mohammed Fuseini both came close before the deadlock was broken just six minutes in. Captain Jordan Ayew opened the scoring with a stunning curler from outside the box to put Ghana ahead.
Defender Razak Simpson, bouncing back from a difficult performance against Nigeria, made amends by rising high to nod home Ghana’s second goal in the 11th minute—his first-ever goal for the national team.
Mohammed Fuseini added to the tally with a composed finish in the 42nd minute, marking his debut goal for the Black Stars. The scoring was rounded off in the second half when Lawrence Agyekum slotted in a tidy finish inside the box near the hour mark to make it 4-0.
While Christopher Bonsu came close on several occasions, he was unable to find the net on his debut. The game also saw a first senior appearance for Barcelona’s rising talent, Abdul Aziz Issah, and a return to the national team for Felix Afena-Gyan, who last featured in 2022.
With the Unity Cup campaign now complete, Ghana will shift focus to their crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September, where they are scheduled to face Chad and Mali as they aim for a place in the 2026 tournament.
