Black Sherif Has Been Nominated For The Best International Act At The 2025 BET Awards
The rising star, celebrated for his emotive storytelling and genre-fusing sound, proudly represents Ghana as the country’s only nominee at this year’s event. His recognition follows the success of his second studio album, Iron Boy, which has continued to make waves globally.

Black Sherif will contend with a powerhouse lineup of global talent, including Nigeria’s Ayra Starr and Rema, South Africa’s Tyla, Brazil’s Gabrielly and MC Luanna, France’s Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM, the UK’s Basky and Ezra Collective, as well as Swaziland’s Uncle Waffles.
This nomination adds another major milestone to the 22-year-old’s impressive journey, marked by breakout hits like Second Sermon, Kwaku The Traveller, and standout tracks from Iron Boy.
The Best New International Act category also highlights fresh talent such as Abigail Chams (Tanzania), Shallipopi (Nigeria), Dlala Thukzin (South Africa), and KWN (UK).
The 2025 BET Awards, which honor excellence in Black entertainment and culture, will be broadcast live from Los Angeles this June.
