August 4 Not A Public Holiday — Interior Ministry Clarifies
The Ministry of the Interior has officially clarified that Monday, August 4, 2025, will not be observed as a public holiday.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Ministry referenced the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days (Amendment) Act, 2025, emphasizing that the only recognized public holidays are those included in the official calendar approved by the President.

This clarification comes amid growing public speculation and inquiries over the status of August 4, previously marked as Founders’ Day in past years.
The Ministry made it clear that August 4 is not listed among the statutory holidays for 2025, and as such, will be treated as a regular working day.
