The swearing-in ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, and also marked the induction of Professor Ransford Gyampo, Acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, as a new member of the reconstituted GPHA Board.
This development forms part of a broader governmental strategy aimed at strengthening the governance framework of the GPHA, with the goal of ensuring effective leadership in the ongoing development and regulation of Ghana’s critical port infrastructure.
The newly restructured board has been tasked with setting clear policy directions, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting large-scale infrastructure expansion across Ghana’s key ports.
The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority plays a pivotal role in facilitating international trade in the subregion. Under its new leadership, the GPHA is expected to drive reforms that will enhance competitiveness, boost revenue mobilisation, and position Ghana as the leading maritime hub in West Africa.
