Asantehene To Lead Crucial Bawku Peace Talks In Kumasi Today
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will resume his mediation efforts today, April 28, to address the long-standing Bawku conflict between the two factions involved.
This renewed peace initiative follows President John Mahama’s reaffirmation of his government’s support for Otumfuo’s leadership in working towards restoring stability and unity in the region.
In an official statement issued on April 15, Otumfuo announced that the critical mediation sessions will take place from April 28 to May 1 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
These talks are considered a crucial step in the national effort to resolve the ongoing Bawku unrest.
