Asantehene Held Back From Telling The Truth During Akufo-Addo’s Government – A Plus Alleges
Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has alleged that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was too afraid to speak out during the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In an interview with Adom FM, the Gomoa Central MP claimed that Akufo-Addo’s administration was so repressive that even influential figures like the Asantehene felt compelled to remain silent.
A Plus, a former musician turned politician, expressed his frustration over the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) persistent criticism of the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. He questioned why the NPP feels entitled to speak freely after their own track record in office.
He called on the party to allow the current administration time and space to rebuild and stabilize the economy, which he believes was severely mismanaged under their leadership.
Additionally, A Plus accused the NPP of deliberately intensifying their involvement in illegal mining—commonly known as galamsey—as a means to sabotage the NDC-led government.
“Ever since the NDC won power, [NPP] decided to intensify their galamsey efforts to disgrace John Mahama. NPP operatives are the only people still engaged in galamsey in this country… it is a deliberate plot to sabotage the GOLDBOD initiative,” he stated.
