In an interview with Billboard on the red carpet at the 67th Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 2, the 30-year-old shared that he enjoys feeling at ease with himself.
“This is how I feel right now. I love being comfortable in who I am and in the things I believe are good for me, regardless of what anyone else thinks.”
“I might wake up tomorrow and you guys may not see any tattoo on my face,” he added.
The 67th Grammy Awards, held on Sunday in Los Angeles, marked Asake’s debut at the event. The singer was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, which was ultimately won by his fellow Nigerian artist, Tems, for her song “Love Me Jeje.”
When asked about his outfit, Asake explained that he was in his “military era” and likes to dress in a way that reflects his current feelings.
There are also rumors suggesting that Asake has parted ways with Olamide’s record label, YBNL.
